While You Were Sleeping

Karlien de Villiers presents her third solo exhibition showing large paintings, original works on paper, monotypes and lithographs.

Employing a cast of characters that includes humanoids, half-lings and star-crossed lovers who encounter each other amongst an array of night creatures and other monsters, de Villiers creates an emotive landscape. Here longing, fear and desire are played out in broad strokes and careful detail.
