Group Exhibition at DUT Art Gallery

This exhibition features the work of lecturers from the newly formed department of Fine Art and Jewellery Design, and showcases practice-based research that reflects the commitment of lecturers to an integration of theory and practice, in the context of the rich cultures and traditions of the art and craft of KwaZulu-Natal. The exhibiting artists are Andries Botha, Themba Shibase, Tony Starkey, John Roome, Chris De Beer, Jan Jordaan, Greg Streak, Bonginkosi Tshabalala, Marlene De Beer, Nicola Savage, Royal Gwala, Greg Bye, Carla DaCruz, Hendrick Strobel, Barry Truter, Bronwen Vaughan Evans, Samantha Vincent and Nirmi Ziegler.

12 Years and Beyond

Group Show at DUT Art Gallery

This exhibition accompanies the book Awareness-Action-Advocacy: 12 Years of Paper Prayers at Artist Proof Studio, which celebrates an ongoing and multidisciplinary approach to advocacy and action. The exhibition is curated by Mpapho Rangoate Hlasane to coincide with the Art and Social Justice conference also hosted at  DUT.

'Exile and Cultural Intersections'

This exhibition explores exile as personal and social transformation through critical reflection and creative and artistic expression. The exhibition deals with the cultural bricolage of exile both visually and textually with a mixture of multimedia photography, paintings and installation.
