This time-based group exhibition examines the resonances of the Johannesburg Art Gallery's history and the origins of its collection, in contemporary Johannesburg. The show includes works from the JAG collection and new works by Thenjiwe Nkosi, Alexandra Makhlouf, James Sey, Serge Alain Nitegeka, Rodan Kane Hart, Phillip Raiford Johnson, Murray Kruger, Alexandra Dodd and others.

The Sotho title of this exhibition translates in English as 'home north', and the show, which consists predominantly of photographic portraits, is the outcome of Mahashe's journeys north of Gauteng to seek the wisdom of his ancestors.
