Biennales, Triennials and other Global regular exhibitions for March

The 2nd Canary Biennial for Art, Architecture and Landscape runs in the Canary Islands, Spain from March 5 - May 3. This exhibition focuses on two aspects of the idea of Landscape: 'Territory - Landscape from a Production Perspective' and 'Habitat - Landscape from a Consumption Perspective'. The 9th Sharjah Biennial (SB9) will be curated by Jack Persekian and will open in United Arab Emirates on March 19 and run until May 16. The SB9 programme will comprise the main exhibition programme titled 'Provisions For The Future' curated by Isabel Carlos, and the performance and film programme 'Past Of The Coming Days' curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh. The work on display is the result of an open call for submissions as opposed to the invited artist process of most biennals. More information at www.sharjahbiennial.org

The 10th Havana Biennial will open in Cuba on March 27 and run until April 30. Several South Africans are among the invited artists, including Hassan and Husain Essop, Johannes Phokela, Andrew Putter, Berni Searle, Minnette Vári and Manfred Zylla as well as Zimbabwean Dan Halter.
