The Plot Thickens

Michael Taylor at Worldart

Michael Taylor's show at Worldart comes hot on the heels of his recent selection as an Art South Africa Bright Young Thing.

Taylor has begun making an impression as a strong, prolific painter. Arguably the inheritor of Robert Hodgins' mantle of acerbic satirist, Taylor displays seemingly endless inventiveness with his characteristic small scale gouache paintings.

'The Lion's Den'

Michael Taylor at Worldart

In Michael Taylor’s exhibition 'The Lion’s Den', the artist takes a satirical look at the figures of the zodiac seen through the eyes of only one character, the Leo. Part autobiographical, part fictional, the artist presents a selection of vibrant whimsical paintings.
