'The Half'

Simon Annand at Focus Contemporary

For twenty five years, actors on the London theatre scene have given Simon Annand unprecedented access to photograph them during the sacrosanct thirty minutes before curtain-up, known as 'the half'.

These images are careful psychological studies which show the myriad ways in which actors focus for the performance ahead.

All images are taken from Simon Annand's recently published book The Half.
