The Reading Room: Artists' Books
Cheryl Penn at KZNSAPenn is interested in artists’ books as a contemporary, interdisciplinary post-modern art form in which a personal visual language is articulated. Penn makes specific reference to the altered book, an art form currently garnering a large international following. The artist explores the book as a quiet, contemplative space in which to present a personal narrative, using the space of the book as a means of juxtaposing reality and imagination.
