MIKHAEL SUBOTZKY
Johnny Fortune, 2004
Photographer Mikhael Subotzky is being hailed as one of most exciting talents to come onto the South African art scene for a long time. His extended work in Pollsmoor Prison has led to an extraordinarily engaged series of photographs of life inside that overcrowded institution, where he also worked with the prisoners, teaching them to make their own photographs.
Editions for ArtThrob is proud to offer this portrait of Johnny Fortune, standing next to one of the washing machines in the laundry.
