Sasol Wax Art Award finalists announced
Sasol have shifted their focus from their Wax in Art competition which formed a major part of 2002 and 2003's WAM! Festival in Sasolburg, to the Sasol Wax Art Awards. Choosing to locate their interest in the realm of established artists in order to fill what they perceived as 'a gap in the industry', the process this year sees four big names each receiving a R20 000 honorarium towards the production of works. A single prize of R130 000 will be awarded in September 2006, culminating in an exhibition.
The four finalists are Andrew Tshabangu, Diane Victor, Kim Berman, Jeremy Wafer and Kagiso Pat Mautloa.
