'Silently Singing'
Ellis Pearson at artSPACE durban
Pearson’s latest show at ArtSpace takes waterscapes as its subject matter. Pearson, who is also one of South Africa's most gifted theatrical performers, uses marks, gestures, colours and movements to invoke what he calls the 'liquid singing' of the water. He intends his paintings to provide a quiet clearing of stillness for viewers.

'Big is Beautiful'
Group Exhibition
ArtSpace curator Karen Bradtke presents this show in response to her observation that most of the work exhibited in Durban recently tends to be small in size. 'Big is Beautiful' focusses on larger works, whether they are a single piece or composed of smaller elements. The show includes work from Terri Broll, Petros Ghebrehiwot, Louise Hall, Terry King, Jeannie Kinsler, Grace Kotze, Peter Machen, Kerry Michau, Jenny Parsons, Janet Solomon, Andrew Verster and Ingrid Winterbach.
