I am looking for a 1973 print of African art that is signed by "Tholeme" or "Tholene." Can you give me any help?

Thank you so much for mentioning my Artnews article on contemporary African art in Artthrob. I found your site invaluable when I was doing my research and continue to read it regularly.

[With reference to Beezy Bailey's letter on Paul du Toit] What I find intriguing is that Beezy Bailey was quite happy exhibiting with Paul when he was relatively unknown in 1999. See the article written by Andries Loots (VGallery) in 1999: http://www.vgallery.co.za/99article28/vzine.htm.

I think this website is truly fantastic and serves a largely deprived South African art public. I am also thrilled that you are now with World Online! With regard to the review on the World Wide Video Festival, a few of the commentaries were unclear and I think just badly written. It would be nice to get another person's perspective on such a large international show.

Did anyone else attend the World Wide Video Festival? Please send us your views

Hey what's happened to those listings - the last ones are from 26th September - I'm experiencing withdrawal!!!

You will probably find you have bookmarked an old edition of Artthrob. You have to manually change your bookmark to www.artthrob.co.za in order to access the latest edition.

Could anyone please tell me if there was an early Cape Town photographer named Anne Dalton? I have found a photograph c1900+ with no identification except a rather flowing signature Anne Dalton on the reverse. I am reasonably sure of the identity of the sitter, Thomas Arthur Ford, who went down on the ship Mendi in the English Channel in 1917.

Can anyone help?

I'm a first year information design student at the University of Pretoria. As an Art History assignment on Pop art in South Africa I have decided to discuss Brett Murray. I have already obtained quite a bit of info from your website - thanks! I would really appreciate it if you could send me some more interesting info. thanks! Jeni-Anne Weitz

All information we have is accessible on the Artthrob website - our search facility will be up and running again soon.
