Randy Hemminghaus

Galamander Press comes to South Africa

Randy Hemminghaus, master printer from New York's Galamander Press, is visiting David Krut Arts Resource (DKAR) , a small project space in Johannesburg, for six weeks. He arrived late January and will be in South Africa until March 4.

During his stay, Hemminghaus plans to work collaboratively with local artists, many of whom he has developed an ongoing relationship with, such as William Kentridge, Penny Siopis, Wim Botha and Colbert Mashile. He intends collaborating with artists who are both experienced and relatively new to the print process, such as Willem Boshoff, David Koloane, John Murray and Dorothee Kreutzfeldt.

As part of the general revelry, DKAR will host an open tea every Saturday morning from 8.30am to 9.30am (booking essential). The public is invited to visit the workshop, and meet with Hemminghaus. DKAR will also exhibit the history of how each image was produced, from the first proof pulled to the final B.A.T.

For further information, please contact Siobhan Mcusker at David Krut Arts Resource on Tel: (011) 880 4242. Email: Siobhan@davidkrut.com.
