[13.01.06] Tropical High Tech: Recent activities of the Trienal de Luanda
Ruth Sacks was invited to Luanda to attend the Vernissage of the
Trienal de Luanda and get a sense of how it is operating. She is now acting
as the Cape Town co-ordinator for this event. This project has its origins
in Fernando Alvim's
Memorias Intimas Marcas project of 1997. Camouflage,
the gallery he established in Brussels in 1999 ceratinly played a part in
the foundation of this event in Angola. The Trienal de Luanda is largely being
driven by Fernando Alvim, Albano Cardoso and Tiago Borges.
